I continued my madness in VFD clock designs and made a 6 digit display that could be NTP controlled and on WiFi. This is the end result of that effort.

This is a black PCB that is very easy to solder. There are 6 mounting holes across the board with standoffs if you fancy making a case for it.

The six VFD tubes have 6 NeoPixels underneath them, giving the tubes a nice multicolor glow.

Check out the photos below. To power it, plug in the clock on the boost power supply. You can power it via the WiFi module, but for only 10-20 minutes before the current draw makes things unhappy.

Upon powering up the clock, it presents a wireless network name that you connect to so that it can be configured to connect to your WiFi network. Then, after connection, visit it's webportal to set the timezone. The WeMos will come pre-flashed with the firmware to drive the clock so that you don't have to fiddle with the Arduino IDE and libs.
