PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

RTA-500 is a single supply inverting amplifier module with the gain set with a potentiometer. Module has wide signal input voltage and the rail to rail output. Input signal can be amplified or attenuated depend on the potentiometer setting. Output signal changes around reference voltage Vref nearaly the up and down limit of the supply voltage. Module can be used as the first line protection of your ADC. When the input signal exceed the limit the output voltage saturate the amplifier to the limit of the supply voltage. Frequency bandwidth starts far below 1Hz, thus almost DC signals, can be amplified. Upper frequency is limited by gain: lower the gain higher the bandwidth up to 200kHz.

Amplifier module is compatible with the ADCs embedded in ARM (STM discovery, LPC boards, etc.) and ATMEGA (ARDUINO boards) microcontrollers.

TYPICAL APPLICATION

The RTA-500 single supply application requires only the supply voltage and the ADC reference voltage. If the reference voltage is not available the VRef input can be tied to the supply voltage. The maximum signal values are described in the RTA-500 module datasheet.
