What is Rheostat?

There are two variables that determine the electric current flowing in an electric circuit. The amount of voltage applied to the circuit and the total resistance of the electrical circuit. If we lower the resistance of the circuit, the amount of electric current through the circuit will increase. If we increase the circuit resistance, the current in the circuit will decrease. And rheostat can be used to control this resistance. So what are these rheostats?

Rheostats are two-ended adjustable resistors. The sliding tip, which is connected to each other from these two ends, is moved over it to change the resistance value, thus it serves to change the intensity of the current passing through. It is connected in series to the circuit and controlled manually.
