What is it?

This case holds the parts for my DIY SlimeVR tracker. The main tracker sits in a 3-part box with a variety of ways to put a velcro strap or other attachment through it. The electronics all come from Adafruit.

The electronics and straps are not included.

I'll ship you a set of 5 of each plastic part printed in PLA at a chonky 0.32mm layer height. The photos are representative of what you'll get but I do apply firmware updates to my printer so minor changes can happen over time. I usually use white PLA but if you want a different colour (or material) then get in touch and I'll see what I can do.

More details in my blog, but here's the short list of parts you would buy for each tracker from Adafruit:

• Microcontroller dev board: Adafruit ESP32-S3 Feather with 4MB Flash 2MB PSRAM - STEMMA QT / Qwiic
• IMU board (two - one main and one aux): Adafruit TDK InvenSense ICM-20948 9-DoF IMU
• Microcontroller to main IMU cable: STEMMA QT / Qwiic JST SH 4-Pin Cable - 50mm Long
• Main IMU to Aux IMU cable: STEMMA QT / Qwiic JST SH 4-Pin Cable - 300mm long
• Battery: Lithium Ion Battery - 3.7V 1200mAh

If Adafruit is out of stock then Digikey and others also carries their parts. The mounting pins are spaced to fit the exact boards I used but other ESP32 and IMU options may work. The battery can be a little smaller or thicker but not much.

Why did you make it?

I made this as a way to experiment with SlimeVR without needing to solder a lot of parts together.

What makes it special?

The main tracker requires zero soldering. The aux board needs a pair of pads bridged to change the I2C address, that's normally done with a tiny dot of solder.

This isn't a cheap way to build SlimeVR trackers but it is pretty easy. If you want to print the files yourself they're available on Printables under a CC license.

Remember that quantity one includes enough plastic parts to hold 5 main trackers and 5 aux trackers. If a different mix is important to you then contact me and maybe we can figure something out :-)
