What is it?

A PCB that breaks out four, six or, eight keyboard (Cherry/Gateron) switches [buttons] with common ground into a standard 5-pin JST connector similar to arcade joysticks. The WASD keys matches a traditional Arcade Joystick JST connector for a 1:1 swap. This slightly newer board revisions now include 3.5mm pitch screw terminal footprints for easier wiring. All switches have a footprint for a surface mount SK6812mini-e addressable LED allowing custom backlighting.

Why did you make it?

Cherry keyboard switches are just about in every way the best tactile button you could ask for. In an arcade joystick setting this is the cheaper build alternative and in some opinions a better input method for precision and control. Two or more PCBs can be combined to create a custom WASD fight stick (see photos).

What makes it special?

Simple, straightforward, versatile way to add a WASD keyboard input to any project to replace a arcade joystick. You can DIY a MixBox controller without the $250 price tag.

Please pay careful attention to the options type. There is a ADC version (Analog to Digital Converter). This variant uses voltage dividers (you supply 1k - 10k SMD resistors) to convert an analog native controller to function only as digital input.
