Read More…The terraPin 6X6 Pinhole Camera is unlike any other pinhole camera, 3D printed or otherwise. Developed after years of experience designing, constructing, and shooting pinhole cameras, the terraPin is novel, versatile and reliable. Derived from the P66, the terraPin also uses 120 film, with a 6 X 6 cm frame, like the Holga, Hasselblad, and other classic medium format cameras. Dozens of P66 pinhole photographers around the world provided input and feedback to help shape the terraPin. Every photograph I have made with the terraPin is located HERE.
I designed the terraPin 6X6 to be the pinhole camera I wanted to shoot. All source files are available for download on Thingiverse, and, in a perfect world, you would 3D print your own camera. If you don't have access to a 3D printer, I sell fully-assembled cameras. I want you to be delighted with shooting my cameras, not struggling to assemble them.
The "Slider" joint between the body and extension allows for effortless changes in focal length, angle of view, and magnification. One camera body and film transport mechanism can be used with multiple extensions, each with their own pinhole and shutter blade.
Currently there are two complete extension options:
50mm, designed for 0.30mm pinhole, f/167, 60 degrees angle of view
35mm, designed for 0.26mm pinhole f/135, 77 degrees angle of view
Other features:
Tripod mount
Frame indexing window with cover slide
Bolts secure the cap to the body during use for greater security
Dual winding knobs for precision indexing / rewinding (film swaps)
Film clips prevent unspooling of film during unloading ("fat roll")
Uses same proven exposure duration calculations as P6*6
3D printed in bioplastic PLA
Pinholes are hand-drilled in brass and checked for size and roundness with microscope +/- 0.01mm
