What is it?

This simple hat for raspberry pi makes plugging the mpu9255 directly into the raspberry simple. The hat is completely assembled and tested.

The mpu9255 attaches to the i2c bus address 0x68. From a console execute "i2cdetect -y 1" to verify it is working.

Why did you make it?

I could not find a suitable imu hat for raspberry for my pypilot (sailboat autopilot) project.

What makes it special?

This hat can plug directly into the first 10 pins of a raspberry leaving the remaining pins available for other purposes. The mpu9255 is the recommended sensor for openplotter. I personally reworked the RTIMULib2 driver to give superior performance and auto calibration.

Pins for the serial port are labeled for easy use with other devices, for example, gps or pypilot motor controller.

Can be used in conjunction with the nokia5110 rpi hat.
