What is it?

Archiduino is a highly versatile modular controller, 100% software compatible with Arduino Leonardo. The added value of Archiduino is constituted by the plurality of interface modules, I/Os and signal conditioning, at his disposal, which can be simultaneously mounted. The system has been designed to fit into a modular DIN rail mounting box (6 modules), a solution that allows you to move from the development phase to the final use in the field with a simplicity and speed not found in other programmable platforms.

Why did you make it?

The widespread use of Arduino has encouraged experimenters and developers to build projects of any kind. The spirit of the Open Software that animates the Arduino community has enabled the sharing of countless works ready to use or useful as inspiration for the development of new projects. In order to preserve all the code already written for Arduino and to meet the needs of those who feel at ease in this environment, we have implemented a CPU AVR ATMEGA32U4 @ 16 MHz on our controller named Archimede, creating a powerful, modular, programmable device 100% software compatible with Arduino.

What makes it special?

This kit was created with the aim to give the opportunity to test the potential of our modular system Archiduino at a very affordable price. The basic kit, in addition to housing the CPU Archiduino, already implements some resources. We provide:

n. 1 base board with 12 slots for additional modules (the modules are sold apart); n. 2 optically isolated digital inputs (the components are located on the bottom of the base card); n. 1 power relay (10A) onboard; n. 1 Archiduino CPU board; n. 3 female flying terminals 5mm pitch n. 1 power cable

The kit does not include the 12Vdc power supply and the USB micro (type B) cable that must be specifically requested.

The base card, in addition to housing the CPU Archiduino, is equipped with 12 slots in which you can insert as many signal conditioning boards. These slot for the additional boards are designed to be mounted vertically, in order to obtain a device as compact as equipped whit a good number of I/O resources.

Moreover, the system is designed to be inserted in a modular DIN rail (6 modules), a solution that allows you to move from the development phase to the final use in the field with a simplicity and speed not found in other programmable platforms.
