The boards are mounted vertically, in order to obtain a compact device but at the same time able to have a good number of I/O resources.
The main objective, on which is based the Archimede / Archiduino project, was to obtain a flexible device, easily adaptable to different needs. How many times we use dedicated cards on which are lacking of resources while others remain unused? This can not happen in this modular system since the signal conditioning boards can be mounted in choosing them according to your needs. Besides the possibility to occupy the slot with a board is is alternatively possible to mount a power relay (max 10 A).
Moreover, the system is designed to be inserted in a modular DIN rail (6 modules), a solution that allows you to move from the development phase to the final use of the software in the field with a simplicity and speed not found in other programmable platforms .
