The Cave Box turns a plastic tub or small tent into an easy to use yet effective mushroom fruiting chamber. Whether you like growing mushrooms from kits or spores, the Cave Box makes it simple to create a comfy habitat for your mushrooms, giving you better quality fruit with less work.

It features an ultrasonic humidifer, a fan, an activated carbon filter and a temperature and humidity sensor in a cool glowing 3D printed case. It has presets for the most commonly grown gourmet varieties, including Lions Mane, Reishi and Oyster mushrooms as well as a setting to initiate pinning. You can control the humidity and number of fresh air exchanges and loads of other settings with the OLED screen.

The device glows and gently pulses, with a colour that indicates the humidity inside your chamber. I designed the Cave Box to be easy to modify and repair. The case is 3D printed out of translucent PLA, making it light up and look cool as well as being more sustainable, less toxic and significantly more economical for me to manufacture. The Cave Box uses custom open source software, which makes it simple to modify the humidity and airflow, calibrate the device and control the LED.
