Introducing the BlackpillF411CEU6 debugger carrier board.

The Blackpill Carrier Board provides a stable, full-featured platform for a Blackpill F411CEU6 running the firmware from the Blackmagic Debug Project. The Blackmagic Debug Firmware supports a wide, growing range of target MCUs.

The carrier provides a standard 2 x 5, 0.050" pitch debug connector found on many target systems. The connectors used are shrouded and keyed to avoid miss-plugging the debug cable and potentially doing damage to the target or Blackpill boards. A second 2 x 5 debug connector is available for debugging the BlackpillF411CEU6 itself, "inception" debugging.

All the LED status indicators supported by the Blackmagic firmware are included on the board.

For target boards that require to be powered, the carrier has jumper selection to power it from the Blackpill (3V3) itself.

Also provided is a connector that may be attached to a target MCU UART port. When the Blackpill is connected to the host computer, this UART appears as a COMM Port. This avoids the needs for an additional UART to USB adapter.

The carrier was designed to avoid the need to use flying wires for the debug hardware and additional UART. Flying wires are often the cause for unstable operation of the debug channel, making the debug experience frustrating. With the Blackpill securely mounted on the carrier, these issues are avoided.

Optionally, a Blackpill F411CEU6 pre-flashed with the Blackmagic firmware is available. Also, optionally, a pair of cables is available to connect to the target MCU and UART channel.

Using the BlackpillF411CEU6 as a debug probe using the Blackmagic Debug Firmware provides professional debugging features for a wide range of microcontrollers. The BlackpillF411CEU6 firmware is actively maintained by the Blackmagic Debug Firmware community and is integrated into the main open-source repository of the Blackmagic Debug Project.
