Read More…ROMSHIMM is a flexible and thin interposer that is placed in the SIMM socket, behind the SIMM module. It is designed to solve poor contact issues due to stretched old SIMM sockets or ROM modules with thin PCBs. The ROMSHIMM has dual sided gold plated contacts and adds a thickness of 0.2 mm.
ROMSHIMM is designed to solve the recurrent problem of poor contact always encountered with the Macintosh SE/30, but is helpful for any machine with socket contact issues.
Installation is easy, install ROMSHIMM with the text facing the back in an empty socket, then slide the ROM module over it. Make sure that everything is seated and aligned properly, and lock the ROM module in the socket until it clicks.
