Read More…This is Dynamixel serial Servo with RC Servo/BESC Spindle control CNC I/O Module designed for use with our 6 Pack compact CNC Controller. It has 2 channels to control Dynamixel serial Servo and 1 separate channel to control RC Servos or BESC devices. These devices use a special PWM signal.
Dynamixel Robot servos
These servos are very strong and accurate for their size. They are controlled via a 3 wire bus. You can control over 200 servos on a signal bus. The servos also have feedback for position. When Grbl is in Idle mode and motors disabled you can move the servos and Grbl will update the current position. They can be used for any axis. You map a range of motion in Grbl_ESP32 to a range of motion on the servo.
RC servos
Grbl_ESP32 has robust support for RC servos. They can be used on any axes and are coordinated with stepper motors. They have limited range and accuracy, but they work well in many applications. The rotation is mapped to range on the axis. The rotation range may represent 0mm-20mm on an axis, for example. They are often used to lift pens drawing machines or activate probes, dust shoes, etc. This is all under the precise control of the code.
BESC
BESCs are Brushless Electronic Speed Controllers. These are the super-fast, powerful and inexpensive motors used on RC planes, cars and drones. They are becoming popular as motors for spindles. Grbl_ESP32 supports this and converts gcode spindle commands into BESC values.
As Servos can draw a lot of currents, so there is a jumper to supply current from an external source or the internal 5V.
This is our original PCB design, based on Bart Dring with some minor changed to adapt to our need.

This module is 100% compatible with Bart DRING module : It has two 3 position terminal block for Dynamixel Serial Servo and One 2.54 3 pin connector for SERVO / BESC
