Works exactly as described

Works perfectly in my Midea U Air Conditioner (MAW08V1QWT). The dongle is a little bit longer than the factory unit, so I had to trim a small plastic tab in the AC unit for it to fit. Setup was easy. I was able to join it to my IoT wireless network and set it up in Home Assistant with no trouble. Now I can remotely monitor and control my air conditioner from my local network, and I don't need to rely on "the cloud" for any of it.

My only (very small) gripe was that I needed to recompile the firmware with the "local: true" flag for the internal web server. Without this, the web UI relies on externally loaded JavaScript files in order to work, meaning that it wouldn't be usable if the internet wasn't available. There was a bit of a learning curve for this, but once I figured it out, it was easy.

I would buy more, but I only have one air conditioner!

Exactly what I wanted

Been using a mix of BroadLink IR blasters and esp32’s with Tasmota IRHVAC to control my mini splits. Cooper & Hammer. While it worked for the most part wanted something with more control and less IR learning. This was the answer. Plugged them in and had my 3 mini split heads in HA in about 5 mins. Unfortunataly

I just recieved the dongle and tryed it in my Qventi arico, but unfortunately it is not working for this brand.
The dongle almost burned up, it gets very very hot within a minute, very strange.
When connecting it directly to my laptop it is booting and i can connect to it by its web interface.

Works with Senville minisplit SENL/09CD

Amazing product! Arrived quickly. While trying to plug in the adapter into my Senville SENL/09CD unit, I noticed the port has some notches that don't allow full insertion of the adapter. As suggested by Jake in another review, I carved out the edges of the male side of a USB extension cable to allow the notches to go in. The adapter is plugged into the extension cable and everything works. Love the ESPHome integration ❤️

Worked flawlessly on Midea U-shaped window AC

Excellent communication from the seller, and fast shipping. Very happy with this. Setup was painless (U-shaped AC model MAW12V1QWT) and it immediately showed up in Home Assistant after configuring the WiFi connection.

The only quirk I've noticed is that the minimum temp is 62.5F rather than 60F, but this was easy to override with HA's customize in configuration.yaml. 61F was the minimum this could be set to, and the display on the AC always shows 1 less than the set temp (i.e. the AC shows set temp of 60 while the actual set temp is 61).

Highly recommended.

True Local Control Of My Midea Air Conditioner

I am always concerned when smart home appliances need to communicate with the cloud, I stumbled across the esphome project and could see it can integrate with my air conditioner giving true local control.

I lack the skill and patience to solder the esp32 myself and found this seller was already producing exactly what is needed in a very compact form factor.

The shipping took a few weeks but that could not be helped, they are based in the Ukraine. Its amazing they are still fulfilling orders.

They provided a QC report and very clear instructions on how to set up the device.
*Note Home Assistant is highly recommended

All in all from dismantling the AC unit, swapping out the wifi modules, reattaching and integrating into home assistant took about 10 minutes.

Works perfect, on Qlima SC-JA2519 !

Used in a Qlima SC-JA2519 air-air heat pump from the Swedish store Jula. Works perfectly,i am glad to have local control and not depend on tuya cloud services any more.. Very happy with the dongle :-)

Perfect product, shipping and communication

Having struggled with the WiFi dongle that came with my Bosch Climate 3000i air conditioners where setup is hard, reliability is poor and integration is nonexistent, this WiFi dongle works perfectly and is installed and found in Home Assistant with a minute.

It's exactly what I wanted

Shipping was quick and the device was well packaged.

Installed mine in a Senville Leto 24k heat pump (rebadged Midea) that shipped with an Alexa USB dongle.

The physical USB port (on the Senville head unit) had some plastic "keys" preventing a standard USB plug from being inserted. I cut them off with an Exacto knife and then everything fit perfectly.

The provided instructions were very clear; I was up and running in Home Assistant within minutes. I can now also control the heat pump from HomeKit, and that makes me extremely happy!

Great purchase, worth every penny.

Works great for Mr. Cool DIY 12k

Works great on my Mr. Cool DIY 12k. I believe on all the newer Mr. Cool's of this model, the USB port has some notches in the side that prevent a direct insertion of the dongle into the air handler unit. Fortunately, its really easy to work around this. I found a USB extension cable I had and then I took a drill and the smallest bit I could find and used it like a router to make notches into the USB extension cable plug. Once the notches are made, its possible to plug the extension into the Mr. Cool Air Handler USB and then plug the dongle into the USB extension. Coil it all up into there and you're good!

Then I was easily able to connect this up to Home Assistant and be able to have full remote control and automation capability for my Mini Split! Thanks for making a great product!

Amazing!

Fast shipping to Uruguay, and the product works exactly as expected. Maybe even better: I was able to use it for 3 a/c units that support us-osk105 by default. The only missing feature is to turn off the display of the unit.

Works great!

Unit works great. I have a MRCool Advantage 3rd gen, and it works perfect. It's a bit of a tight fit, and I had to use the reset button on the unit to get the wifi AP to come up, but once I got it connected it was solid.

It has a very good build quality and is much more reliable than using an IR blaster.

It worked pretty good with the included firmware, however I can't leave well enough alone and wanted a custom firmware. The Esphome forum had some example yaml but it wouldn't connect without some work. It's working very nice and looking forward to making some automatons with it.

Just works.

I first purchased one of these for my KeepRite Ductless Mini Split. I discovered the USB port internally when I was cleaning it I then found this little device and ordered. It came rather quickly considering what is currently happening in Ukraine. I plugged it in and logged into it's AP/Wifi mode and set my IoT network up. I added it in Home Assistant via ESPHome and everything populated. I am able to control all functions from Google, Home Assistant, etc.

I ordered a second when I had another Mini Split installed, the Kerr brand. This also works 100%. It actually even populates the power sensor and I'm able to calculate kW/h now.

If you have a Ductless MiniSplit with a 'USB' port inside, this will **probably** just fine. I'm 2/2.

Worth the wait to use my Midea AC with Home Assistant!

With all the turmoil going on in Ukraine, I worried about getting it, but it came, and I'm thrilled! Swapping this unit for the WiFi module that comes with my Midea 12000BTU Window AC unit (MAW12S1WWT) was a breeze. After powering up the AC, the dongle started broadcasting, and after following the included directions, got it connected to my WiFi, and my HA server picked it right up. SO NICE to be able to change the settings from my phone WITHOUT it needing to "phone home"! THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR MAKING THESE!!!!

Excellent Midea ESPHome module for HomeAssistant

This module for my Midea air conditioner works very well with HomeAssistant and solved a problem for me. The original Midea system relies on their own cloud and the wifi kept dropping. This required resetting the AC unit (or pulling the dongle out of the AC) every few weeks. I was very disappointed with the original module. This replacement module is so much better. It interfaces with HomeAssistant natively and is easy to setup. The midea AC unit responds immediately to the commands (even faster than the native Midea app that has to use their cloud). The system runs within my LAN which is a bonus. The software is configurable with ESPHome so that I can add functionality like PIR sensor or outputs. The ESP wifi chip is a bit weak so I added an access point nearby. Serge recommended soldering an additional wire as an antenna which probably would work as well. Communication with the seller is excellent and provided all the info I needed to customize the module. the module arrived with a well-written english instructional sheet that got me online with the module quickly. This module 'fixes' Midea AC Wifi. Its really a must-have for every Midea AC user with HomeAssistant.
