What is it ?

Previously I manufactured Flex NodeMCU programmers. It's a very handy programmer for ESP8266-modules, like the ESP07, ESP08 and ESP12.

This "Flex Red Devil" is a more versatile programmer. Why? Well, there's an extensionboard included. The Flex Red Devil enables interfacing :

• ESP01 (2x4-pin female header)
• ESP03 / ESP04 (clamping pins)
• ESP05 (5-pin female header)
• ESP07, ESP08, ESP12 (clamping pins)
• ESP11 (miniature 8-pin male header)

And still, you can interface their respective pins by the red female sockets.

Why did you make it?

Over the past time, several hundred Flex NodeMCU programmers got sold worldwide. Without exception there's positive feedback. For this reason, the design and the way it operates, can be marked as a good and solid concept.

However, request for additional functionalities kept pouring in. Mainly they came down to create a programmer for even more ESP-modules. After several months tinkering with concepts and prototypes, it resulted in an update / upgrade : Flex NodeMCU programmer V1.6A, also codenamed the "Flex Red Devil".

You like to start, tinker or program a batch of ESP8266 modules? This is the tool to go for! It's worth every penny / cent.

What makes it special ?

The Flex NodeMCU programmer is -without exception- an incredible tool. Feel free to check the internet for reviews or feedback. This "Flex Red Devil" brings even more freedom and fun. In other words: there's no other tool available, which can handle flexible a variety of ESP8266 modules.

Mount or slide in your module and start tinkering. When done, program a full batch of them. It saves a lot of time and is done in a fingersnap.

What should potential buyers know ?

• USB to UART / COM: Onboard is a CP2102. Install respective drivers and set to following parameters: 115.200 Bps, 8-N-1
• Switch : "Flex Red Devil" can be powered by an external DC adapter (5V) or simply over USB-bus (Mini USB-B).
• Contents: Included in the package are the "Flex Red Devil" and C-gridlocked 2-pin connector (+ crimping pins). No soldering required. NOTE : There's no USB to Mini-USB connector / cable included.
• Manual: There's no manual (yet) available. However, it operates identical as a Flex NodeMCU programmer.
• Manufacturing: This toy is handcrafted. Manufacturing/testing every single one takes time.
