2. The RGB resistors provided are 90% smaller in value, despite the silkscreen indication, which the filtered output signal is brighter ... can be considered an improvement.

What is MonochromeVGA?

MonochromeVGA is a product to enjoy the charm of those monochrome monitors of the time but in the current video systems, and more specifically in your PC monitor. Although it could be connected to any TV, monitor or video system that has VGA inputs.

Now with switch to change color to monochrome and vice versa without disconnecting it.

Features

Connecting it directly in a VGA output, it will bridge and convert the RGB signals to a passive equivalent luminance value with a few resistors, then you just have to select the monochrome output by combining the primary colors red, green and blue using the DIP switch.

Settings of simulated monitor (DIP Switch)

1: Red

2: Green (75%)

3: Blue

4: Green

Examples:

Green: OFF, OFF, OFF, ON

Amber: ON, ON, OFF, OFF

B&W: ON, OFF, ON, ON

What is provided?

• Kit or full Assembled device, now easier to solder thanks to the fact that all encapsulates are through hole.

Info for Kit version

I have added photographs of the elements provided in the kit version. This one indicates the correct position of the VGA male and female sockets before proceeding to their solding, as you can see, on the left goes male, and on the right female.

Disclaimer

It is recommended to use this device inside an shielded container, which can be as simple as a cardboard box lined with aluminium foil, because although unlikely, the VGA signal could interfere with other nearby devices and depending on the laws of your country, it could lead to fines.
