This is Light Unit #2 Rev.3 for Film Camera Tester. When connected to the Tester it will greatly improve the comfort of using it, and having a calibrated light source will also increase the capabilities of the Tester.

It allows to check accuracy and calibrate photometric light meters and light meters built into a cameras. In Settings you can switch calibration constant K between 12.5 and 14.03, depending on a camera you are testing. For example, Canon, Nikon, and Sekonic commonly use value 12.5, while Pentax, Minolta use 14.03.

Firmware

For proper functioning, your Film Camera Tester should run Firmware version 2.5 or later.

Note, that you might need an ISP Programmer or another Arduino compatible board to use as an ISP Programmer.

If you are not familiar with Arduino or don't know how to upload a firmware, you can add "Arduino Nano compatible board with latest Firmware" to your order.

Power supply

Accuracy of the light output greatly depends on a quality of a power supply. It is recommended to use 12V 2A (or higher) power supply like "Mean Well" or similar, where output voltage can be finely adjusted within +/-1V. When connected, adjust power supply voltage to exactly 12.5V, and make sure it stays the same whether Light Unit is on or off.

Warning

Always double-check the polarity of the connected power source before powering the device. The device is not equipped with any protection against reversed polarity.
