This is a fully open source LED wearable designed to be shown off, used to flag, hacked on, and tripped out to. I decided to make this for myself because I wanted it to exist. After putting in all of the work, I thought it'd be a shame if I only made one. Clip it on your belt; pin it on your backpack; customize the patterns & palettes for your mood; attach it to your deck for your next t4t renegade.

The 78 RGB leds sit on this palm-sized circuit board. The buttons directly on the pcb give it a nice retro feel. Power input is over USB-C, works great with USB batteries. LEDS are 5V, chip logic, microphone, and interfaces are 3.3v. Runs on Arduino Zero firmware (AAZAF (Assigned Arduino Zero At Flash)).

• Two pushbuttons for selecting patterns & colors

• Thermistor for temperature management
• Brightness dial to manage level of eye-lasering
• Power switch for longer storage
• USB-C for power & coding. Requires 5V USB-C input from wall or battery.
• (Back side) SWD pads for flashing new firmware
• (Back side) I2C pads for whatever you'd like
• (Back side) SPI pads for driving the leds externally if you'd like
• Mount points for bar pin, necklace, bolts or other attachment
• 8.2 x 9.3cm, somewhat longer with a usb cable attached
• ..all printed on FR-4 HASL Lead Free 1.6mm matte black

• Pixel art software designed with love for this trans pixel layout
• Touch the venus, mars, and 'earth' capacitive-touch iconography to mix and match your gender-flagging
• A sound pattern responds to volume & pitch
• Automatic palette or pattern rotation modes
• Button chords to give you as many ways to mix & match these pride flag colors onto this iconography as I could dream up and also fit into 32KB of ram

ok what do you mean "button chords"

• Try pressing the Colors or Patterns button while touching one of the three g̶e̶n̶d̶e̶r̶s̶ symbols. mix and match until you like it.

hot stuff

When the LEDs are lit near maximum brightness they dissipate a lot of heat (upwards of 12W). Software will automatically begin scaling maximum brightness down when it gets hot, but parts of the board may still become hot to the touch when brightness is set to max. Be mindful if you use it in a hot environment.
