It shows live, how the CPU cores are clocked. Idle cores at minimal frequency is shown as OFF, elevated as GREEN, high as ORANGE and max/turbo frequency as RED.
It plugs into a 4/5 pin USB header of your motherboard, and the unit itself slots into a 5.25" drive bay.
It comes with an Open Sourced Windows Service, and an Open Sourced Linux Daemon.

In the 1980s, a PC would come with a Turbo LED that showed you whether the PC was running at 8MHz or 4.77MHz. Today, we have lost informational lights on the computer case. Only the HDD LED remains. With this product, you can read the state of your CPU cores from the front of your case.

This is for PC-users using Linux. This device no longer works on Windows, as Microsoft has disabled the API for CallNtPowerInformation ProcessorInformation.
This is best used in PC cases that have an external 5.25" drive bay slot. If you do not have a drive bay accessible from the front, you will need to find your own way of mounting the unit in your PC.
