Read More…The WME64 wireless modem emulator is a budget-friendly way to get your Commodore 64, 128, or VIC-20 on the internet through modern wifi networks. It was designed to enable people who don't have a lot of cash to spend on retrocomputing to still get in on BBSes and the like. It connects to the user port, and emulates a 2400 baud or faster (maximum is approximately 9600 baud) user port modem, and is compatible with every program that knows how to use one.
The WME64 is based on the ESP8266 microcontroller, running a slightly modified version of ZiModem. The case is designed and 3d printed by me, with a colour label, and the product is shipped ready to run, pre-configured at your choice of speed.
