These boards replace the NEC TOKIN capacitors in PS3 FAT consoles. Over time and because of high temperatures the TOKINs degrade. In some cases you can use these to revive a PS3 console that won't boot or has erratic performance. There's no guarantee that they will fix a PS3 console, but if you have done the diagnostics and want to try them, these are an easy way to get the boards quickly.

The cost of ordering the parts for small quantities, and the lack of access to SMT soldering equipment makes them out of reach for some DIY people who want to try these to see if they fix a broken PS3 console. I bought quality parts and built the boards by hand with a hot air rework station. Parts include: PANASONIC EEFGX0E471R with 3 mohm ESR and and array of Multilayer Ceramic Capacitors in values that improve noise reduction on the power lines to the RSX and CELL processors.

Please note that the price is for a PAIR of these boards, front and back of one shown in photo. Generally you will want two of them, and usually only for the RSX processor.
