What is it?

The DCC Interface breakout board is a communication module for the IoTT Stick or other Arduino controllers to receive and interpret DCC commands from a model railroad track (N, HO or G scale voltages). It features fully opto-isolated input of the DCC signal and output of decoder acknowledge pulses. It can be configured for 3.3V or 5V signal levels of the micro controller. The controller is connected using a Grove port (digital) for plug and play connection using the IoTT Stick or any Seed Studio Grove port connector board. A 3D printed enclosure is available. The STL file is available in the Design File link or the enclosure can be ordered as a separate item. Note: There is no Grove port cable included with the breakout board. Please order your preferred cable type and length as additional item.

Fantastic module for DCC

This is a fantastic DCC module to communicate with your train layout, using an Arduino. You can read and respond to the DCC system through this board and it’s isolated electrically. With this module you can use your Arduino with the NMRA DCC library to control things like switches, act as decoders, or stream all DCC communication into your Arduino. Easy to setup with NMRA sample library code. I used my first one to create a Time Saver maneuver counter that tracks your locomotive movements and reads out the score on an OLED screen live while you’re playing!

Would highly recommend

A fundamental piece for my layout, everything was shipped, well packaged and delivered in good time.

The integration with my DCC ++ EX and JMRI system was quite simple, Hans's help I was able to advance without much setbacks, the handling of the signals based is perfect functional JMRI, with which I was able to create in minutes several models of Aspec Signal controlled by DCC by sending the commands through the DCC Interface -> IoTT Stick -> Blu Hat -> WS2812B Addressable 5050.

It is an excellent option for the creation and management of signals.

The dcc breakout board is working great

The board is communicating flawlessly with my NCE dcc system. The only draw back i can find is software related. when we use it We do not have Mqtt communication like the loconet board. I would love that it can do a relay mode with Mqtt. I don’t think the full gateway is necessary. Let see how the software improve over times.

That actually is a great idea. There is no reason why I could not feed the DCC information to MQTT. I will put it on the to do list for an upcoming version of the stick software.
