What is it?

This battery powered sensor wakes up at certain configurable time intervals to log temperature and humidity to a web database such as seen at ThingSpeak. Please note hive weight monitoring is not part of this DaCorder product yet. Please see video overview and FAQ at DaCorder FAQ.

Why did you make it?

Intent is to make something simple and low power that does not require soldering or programming hardware and skills to quickly and easily monitor beehive temperature and humidity.

What makes it special?

While wifi consumes more power than other wireless protocols, it is only active during data transmission. Sleep intervals consume ~20uA, so batteries can be configured for thousands of sample intervals.
