What is it?

A small device that simply emits a 'beep' every 5 minutes. Easy to hide anywhere and annoy everyone! It is amazing fun to watch friends, co-workers, anyone search for hours for this little device! With it being only a bit bigger than the diameter of a US quarter the locations are endless. A few ideas, I have hid it in 3D-prints, desk speakers, under/in desks, conference room, and even in a ceiling. Every beeper is sold with a single lithium 2032 button cell battery.

Why did you make it?

This came from me not being able to find a beep in the house for hours (naturally was the smoke detector). I figured why not make something that can do this as a device. My friends have loved and hated it, this convinced me that I needed to share it here.

What makes it special?

Very small, no code or programming to worry about, will run for hours on a single 2032 battery. During the design I made sure to use quality parts despite how simple it maybe. I believe in sharing designs to allow others to learn, my github with the design files are linked as well as the BOM and a simple manual.

Important Notes:

Be sure to remove the yellow-ish sticker on the top of the buzzer. This was left over from the SMD pick and place machine. Failure to do so will result in a very quite beeper. Make sure to press the test button after installing the battery to give the capacitor its initial charge. If not done the first beep could take up to 10min to occur.
