This is a modular backplane system designed for the RC2014 retro computer. The available sections are:

SC112 v1.0

• Input: Power supply (5 volts)
• Cards: 6 x RC2014/80 pin sockets
• Output: Through-hole BP80 socket
• Jumpers to connect or isolate some signals from adjacent module sockets
• Pins 38 and 39 can be linked to form an interrupt daisy chain

SC113 v1.1

• Input: Through-hole BP80 plug
• Cards: 6 x RC2014/80 pin sockets
• Output: Through-hole BP80 socket
• Jumpers to connect or isolate some signals from adjacent module sockets
• Pins 38 and 39 can be linked to form an interrupt daisy chain

SC133 v1.0

• Input: Power supply (8 to 15-volt input)
• Cards: 11 x RC2014/40 pin sockets
• Output: Through-hole RC2014/40 socket
• Thin tracks can be cut to isolate some signals from adjacent module sockets

SC141 v1.0

• Input: Through-hole RC2014/40 plug
• Cards: 12 x RC2014/40 pin sockets
• Output: Through-hole RC2014/40 socket
• Thin tracks can be cut to isolate some signals from adjacent module sockets

SC109 v1.0

• Input/Output: Through-hole BP80 plug
• Cards: 6 x RC2014/80 pin sockets
• Input/Output: Edge mounted Z50 Bus plug
• This section contains 3 RC2014 compatible sockets and 2 Z50 Bus sockets, allowing RC2014 modules and Z50 Bus modules to be mixed. The module can be plugged into the 'output' socket of any RC2014 compatible modular backplane, the 'output' socket of a Z50 Bus compatible backplane, or a LiNC80 SBC1.

SC105 v1.0

• Input: Power supply
• Cards: 6 x RC2014/80 pin sockets
• Output: Edge mounted BP80 socket

SC106 v1.0

• Input: Edge mounted BP80 plug
• Cards: 6 x RC2014/80 pin sockets
• Output: Edge mounted BP80 socket

SC107 v1.0

• Input: Edge mounted BP80 plug
• Cards: 6 x RC2014/80 pin sockets
• Output: Edge mounted BP80 socket
• Pins 37 and 38 form an interrupt daisy chain

What was I thinking!?

My goal is to produce a range of backplane sections that can be joined together to form a larger backplane, or used individually for small systems. Not only can the backplane be of variable length, but it can be made of sections that have any special features required.

Most backplanes are of a fixed size and configuration. This modular backplane system is more flexible and can have any custom section required.

Documentation

The range is fully documented with a user guide for each section, which includes component sourcing and assembly instructions. There is also a "Modular Backplane Specification" document. These can be found in the documentation link below. PCB design files can be found at EasyEDA.com, where you can download Gerber files and order boards.
