Compatibility

This module conforms to the RCBus specification v1.0 for RCBus-2014 enhanced 39-pin long modules.

The printed circuit board outline conforms to the RC2014 standard for full height modules.

The module is compatible with all RC2014 backplanes, all RCBus-2014 backplanes (RC2014 compatible including SC100 series) and all full RCBus 80-pin backplanes (including SC700 series). Pins in the second row are provided for consistency and mechanical stability.

A similar design SC719 is also available. It is compatible with the RCBus, including the RC2014 standard 40-pin bus, the RC2014 enhanced 60-pin bus and the extended 80-pin RCBus.

The RCBus specification includes RCBus-2014 (both RC2014 standard 40-pin bus and RC2014 enhanced 60-pin bus) and also the full 80-pin RCBus. The 80-pin RCBus provides support for advanced Z80 features, such as the interrupt daisy-chain, as well as support for other processor families.

The Kit

The full kit includes all the components needed to make the module, as shown in the first picture. Other modules and backplanes shown in the other pictures are not included. You will require tools, solder and cleaning materials to assemble this kit.

Works a Treat! Highly Recommended

I consider this an essential protoyping board that every RC2014 system should have... Maybe not connected in all the time, but when you want to design your own board, or you want to connect some device you have on hand, this is the go-to board you want to have. Very easy to assemble and very easy to program for.

Shipping was very quick, all the way out to Australia, despite the dramas with Covid. No tracking was provided which would always add a level of confidence, buit that would raise costs and hey, it got here just fine.

fantastic kit!

Just received and assembled my kit today. I tested this with an SC126 (highly recommend that kit too!) and it worked straight away and exactly as expected. Within minutes I was sending byte values to control the output pins which I tied to an arguing. Works great! Stephen's kits are top notch! The shipping was much faster than anticipated to the U.S. as well.

Perfect I/O board, flexible and easy to build

Unbeatable price for this easy and powerful I/O kit. The port number selection makes it possible to multiply boards without conflicts. A high quality great buy for any RC2014 based computer. And Stephen's support is as great as usual.

Super easy to assemble and even easier to use!

I got this together with my SC126, as a first step into the world of Retro Computing. The building instructions for this were very easy to follow and it worked perfectly after the assembly. I am very pleased. Plus it's got lots of colourful LEDs, who doesn't love those?

Super digital I/O Module

Just another brilliant product from SteveC. Special with this module is that it is accompanying a 4 part article, showing the design from conception to finished product. Needless to say, the product is supported by a detailed assembly guide and instructions on how to use it.

The perfect start on the road to controlling the universe.

Great little I/O board for any of the RC2014 compatible systems. The kit was a joy to assemble and works beautifully with my SC130 and my SC126.

The assembly guide and all of the documentation is great and will get to a working I/O solution allowing a plethora of cool projects to control from your Z80 beasts.

Well worth the money.

Like all of Stephen's kits, this is well designed, well documented and complete. The simple, problem free assembly makes this kit suitable for all skill levels. Its also great value, so I plan to order another for one of my other RC2014 computers. Recommended.
