This kit includes all the components needed to make the card, as shown in the first picture. Other cards and backplanes shown in the other pictures are not included. You will require tools, solder, and cleaning materials to assemble this kit.

Great fun and versatility!

Now I'm a person who enjoys soldering as a passtime, but even I was surprised at just how much fun the Digital I/O Card Kit is to put together. I had so much fun with it, that I ordered another for the RCBUS 80-pin standard. Not only is it fun, it's powerful, with I/O lines that could easily be used to drive a peripheral, while visualizing the traffic to and from it. This is a tremendous improvement over the buttion input of the original RC2014 Digital I/O module, which mean that input lines can't be software controlled by peripherals the way this board supports.

I can't speak on why, but so far this board was the most fun of all the builds I've done; and they've all been fun.

Pretty Blinky Lights

This card is very straightforward, when the description says this card is easily controlled from programs or basic it means it! A single byte in memory can operate all of the inputs and outputs. Putting the card together was almost just as straightforward, and it was packaged and shipped securely. The LEDs are bright without being eye-searing, and it even comes with a test button as part of the board.

It's not a computer until it has a lot of flashing lights on

Another very nice kit, up to the usual high standard. Knocking a point off because I'd have preferred right-angle LEDs like the other SC500 kits, and there are sixteen of them here that need their leads carefully bending and lining up neatly.
