The SC500 series cards conform to the Z50Bus specification with cards being the recommended “standard” size (100mm x 75mm).
SC591 is a modular 8-bit computer built from the following SC500 series modules:
SC502 provides power to the system from an 8 to 15-volt D.C. power supply at up to 1000 milliamps. Note, that the 8 to 15-volt power supply is not included in the kit. The card also includes a voltage supervisor and reset device to ensure reliable operation, including a power-up reset. Five LEDs provide status indicators. An alternative card is available with a 5-volt input.
SC503 is a complete Z180 computer and is supplied with RomWBW in Flash memory. The card includes an SPI port, primarily for connecting a Micro SD card adapter, and two 5-volt asynchronous serial ports, typically running at 115k baud. The processor runs at 18.432 MHz and the board contains 512k bytes of RAM and a 512k byte of Flash memory.
Wayne Warthen's RomWBW firmware provides a robust implementation of CP/M with support for a wide range of hardware. All the required software to run a well-featured CP/M system is included in the supplied Flash "ROM", so you can get up and running without the hassle of installing software. RomWBW includes many useful programs in the ROM. RomWBW has been provided free of charge by its author Wayne Warthen. Thank you, Wayne, for providing this and all the support.
With the addition of the optional Micro SD card adapter and a Micro SD card, you can add storage and install extra software, including classics from the golden age of CP/M and Z80 processors.
