The most flexible shutdown solution

This HAT does everything I need.
I have a OpenAuto pro in 2 vehicles. 1 vehicle I did a few years back before this HAT was created. For a safe shutdown, I needed multiple relays, timer circuits. etc. It was a pain cramming all that stuff into the dash.

With the second vehicle, I purchased the CarPiHat. All of that was eliminated! Plus with the molex connectors everything is connected securely and won't come loose .

But it's even better than that, this is a very flexible product and allows you to expand your system. In my case, I have 2 USB Hubs. I was able to use the additional ports on this to trigger a relay and keep those relays on until the PI is completely shut down. This was not something that came out of box, but the creator of this board figured out how to do and walked me through what I needed to add software wise to make it work.

Forget anything else for automotive applications

I was designing my own hat when I found this and saw it does exactly what I was trying to do. Unfortunately, I put off buying it because I was worried it would take near forever to receive. I tried a lot of quick and dirty alternatives including the SixFab UPS and nothing worked quite right. I shouldn't have delayed because I finally ordered the CarPiHat and it ended up getting to the Midwest USA in 9 days.

It is amazing. It replaced three other hats and does everything I'd planned and more. I'm using nearly every wire with the turn signals going to the 12 V inputs and a cooling fan and amp standby on the 12V outputs. Will hook up the CAN when I replace the ECU.

Loved that you supplied CAD models so I could print an enclosure before I got the board. It works without any conflicts with a HiFiBerry DAC+ADC Pro and a SixFab 4G/LTE/GPS. Oh, and I absolutely love these nano-fit molex connectors. I just ordered a bunch of plugs, receptacles, and pins so I can start using them in all my electronics.

Great board for OpenAuto Pro / Crankshaft project.

I just love it. Before I found out this board I have combined a portion of the components and ended up having a bulky, ugly mess of wires, boards and melted 3d printed support structures for those various components. Here's everything neatly designed on a single RPi HAT-sized board with a dummies-resistant docu and very helpful seller.

Only downside is that it's shipped from UK which means paying customs and VAT when sending it to EU. But obiously this is Brexit's fault, not the seller's.

Great bit of kit!

Bought this HAT for implementing a custom OpenAuto installation in my Mini. Everything went smoothly and worked well. The Molex terminals make wire connections quick and easy.

Highly recommend for a hassle free installation.

Great product, works as advertised.

So far I'm using the CarPiHat only for power management and the RTC. No complaints to be made. I did find that the documentation for the clock setup was slightly outdated, but needed info was easily found online.

Very nice piece of hardware

Extremely happy with this hat. Very easy to set things up. Got it installed with Android auto pro project in my Van and everything works as it supposed to. even integrated BMW Idrive controller which helps me to control the software. Really recommending this HAT.
