What is it?

The Powerman is an IP5306 based lithium ion or polymer charger that can take a theoretical input current of 5V 2A and step up the 3.7v from battery to output 5V 2A. Featuring ultra small form factor, short circuit protection and auto power cutoff during low current draw.

Why did you make it?

This module is designed to replace the Adafruit PowerBoost that cost $19.95 with extra 1A input output current. I ordered a bunch of them just to put them in my project but I also sell them online to those who needs it.

What makes it special?

Its ultra low profile and small form factor makes it very easy to work with inside portable electronics.

Things to be noted

Due to its ultra small form factor and relatively high current IO (for this size of charger), you might need a heat sink to cool the chip and the inductor during charging at 2 Amps.
