What is it?

This is a tester for the Commodre PET (or Mini PET) IEEE-488 port. This will show the 16 signals on the bus with LED indication.

Each LED is lit when the corresponding signal is active (low).

Power is supplied by a datasette port power tap (included).

Note, not suitable for 8xxx-SK model PETs with the GPIB style connector, only the original metal case PETs with a 24 way edge connector.

Why did you make it?

This is useful to test for faults on the IEEE-488 bus. You can use this to test if the signals are driving the port correctly. It can also be used to monitor activity on the bus to debug issues with IEEE_488 disk drives.

What makes it special?

This version include 16 individual LEDs to clearly display the 8 data signals and 8 control signals from the bus. The driver chips minimise loading on the bus.

This is available as a self assembly kit, or assembled and tested.
