Note: LIPO battery is NOT included. EU delivery restrictions prevent batteries in the parcel. The device requires one 18650 battery to operate. Please source the battery separately.

Include mechanical switches and keycaps

Opt for the "include mechanical switches and keycaps" option to receive a fully assembled device, requiring only battery installation. Your switches will be offering an incredible tactile sensation and a pleasing sound profile, striking a balance between clacky and linear switches. These switches are immensely satisfying and happen to be my personal favorite. Moreover, this option retains the hot-swappable socketed PCB feature, enabling future mechanical keyboard switch changes at your convenience.

Silent switch is very silent and it is adequate to use in a place where you need to keep the noise level in check. Keyboard noise is mainly caused when the key press reaches the bottom and the sound is coming from the clash to the floor. Silent switches makes it feel like the last part of the clash is soften out by a sponge. It feels like the register is landing to the cloud. A soft landing.

I started out with an Alphasmart Neo 2 in 2007, when I bought it new shortly after it's release by Renaissance Learning. It revolutionized my writing experience, giving me a great deal of focus. It allowed me to draft 5 novels and a large collection of short stories. It was, and still is, a remarkable Writer Deck more than 10 years since it was discontinued.

The greatest product a writer could ask for

I've had the Micro Journal Rev.6 for about six months now. As someone who does quite a bit of creative writing for their work, the Micro Journal has been revolutionary. I can now type into a text file practically anywhere I'd like, and because of the screen space I'm able to focus on raw output rather than get distracted by whether it all makes sense; something that I really should only worry about when editing. The best part is being able to sync what I've typed to Google Drive, making the process of editing in the future even easier. One small quibble I have is that the SD card slot feels a little... off. You will have to shove the card in there and really pull hard to get it back, which feels scary the first few times. But so far I haven't had too much of a problem with it, and with the sync feature there was rarely a time where I needed to pull the SD card out anyway.

Love the look and feel of this distraction-free writer deck

This is a lovely writing instrument, a pleasure to look at and work with. The set up was a little complicated, but worth it for the flexibility and customization the Micro Journal allows. It’s still a kind of prototype, and so feels a bit fragile. Also one key (bottom lower right hand side) doesn’t function and hasn’t since I received the item. I mapped my keyboard around it. The creator is very open and communicative, takes his work seriously but has a great, absurdist sense of humor. Eager to continue following his work and see what he develops next.

Micro Journal Rev. 6 - Everything I hoped for and more

My micro journal is:
-Very well built: It feels sturdy, and looks nice
-Easy to set up: Un Kyu Lee's instructions were clear and easy to follow
-Has an incredible feeling to its keys and an inspiring look to it

I wanted a freewrite, but the price is not for me. Un Kyu Lee's product offered me an alternative at a much more affordable price, and without the drawbacks of the e ink screen. As soon as I found this listing I ordered one.

It took just under two weeks to arrive in Minnesota from Italy. I was impatient, and reached out a week after placing the order to ask Mr. Lee about the status of my order. He replied promptly that it would ship within two weeks of the order date. It did, and I was able to follow it through Italy and the US using the tracking service he provided.

I really cannot express enough how pleased I am with this product- I had a lot of doubts, from hardware quality to wondering if I would ever even receive a package from Italy (irrational, but I worried it would get lost in the long process of international shipping). All of my doubts were squashed. The item arrived quickly, was packaged extremely well in several layers of bubble wrap, and even included a quick start guide, extra keycaps (thanks Un Kyu Lee!), and a neat little card that I ended up adhering to my screen cover.

If you are on the fence, take the plunge! Un Kyu Lee will answer any questions and ensure you are satisfied with your product, as he did for me.

I've never been happier with a purchase!

The way I audibly gasped when I took my Micro Journal out of its packaging and saw it with my own eyes was something I haven't done before for any product I've purchased. It is so immediately apparent the love and skill that Mr. Lee puts into his works. He worked with me to come up with a custom color scheme that I absolutely loved and I get giddy just looking at the thing.

That's without even mentioning the typing! The user experience on this machine is absolutely fantastic. It's extremely satisfying to type, and the file management system is so effortless. Mr. Lee has provided excellent documentation for setting up the battery and google drive sync as well.

I've been typing non-stop on this Micro Journal over the past few weeks, and I am confident that it will continue to be a staple in my life for many years to come.

Couldn’t Be Happier

Mr. Lee was a joy to work with, very communicative, patient, and kind. The Micro Journal itself is a beautiful little device. The switches that come standard with the Micro Journal sound and feel great. The firmware is bare bones in a good way. Easy to use and free of distractions. Setup was easy; Mr. Lee has great documentation available to help you get writing right away. Make sure you purchase a battery for your device and have some way to access the SD card on a computer at home. Shipping was super fast, and the device was packaged with obvious care. Can’t recommend this shop or the Micro Journal enough!

Amazing Little Wonder

It works now for me very good, like it should.

The Price is OK! For me, and what You get.

Maybe other's free writer is better

But more expensive too.

A very fun device to look at and to work with

I've been interested with the device ever since I accidentally saw it on twitter.
As a distraction free writing device it is distractingly very cute (but in a good way),
I already like the default design (the blue one), but I love that there is an option to choose the color,
it is adding personality to the device.
The package arrived safely and is easy to assembly.
The ortholinear keyboard is comfortable to use,
it only takes a few minute to get used to, and you can adjust the keymap according to what you need,
and if there is any trouble, the developer is very responsive.

It is even better now that there are 9 files to work at from the micro journal.
So other than writing draft for work, I can also write a plan for the next day or a diary.
I'm already happy with Micro journal ver 6, firmware 1.0.15. but I can't wait to see what will come next.

A perfect portable writing device.

I absolutely love this beautiful little device. It is perfect for people who want to put words on the screen and nothing else. There are no other distractions to get in the way of you just writing. It is the perfect size. The keyboard layout was easy to adjust to. The battery life is astounding. It's design and color definitely make it a conversation starter for people around me. The online set-up guide is easy to understand. The seller is very kind and willing to answer any questions you have about the device. 10 out of 10 from me. I can't wait to see what he comes out with next.

Tiny Miracle - Micro Journal Rev.6

I received the Micro Journal v6 from Tindie yesterday. I love it!
- Design is fantastic - everything about it just feels right and you can tell it is someone's passion project
- The keys are perfect and can be customized by you anytime. The color can be customized when ordering it
- The sync with Google Drive is perfect
- Replaceable 18650 battery that can charge with USB C (not C to C though)
- The screen is really good and the background and foreground colors can be changed
- The creator is easy to reach and talk to

After having the Kingjim Pomera devices (DM100, DM30, DM250), the Alphasmart, the Astrohaus Alpha - I've started to realize how difficult it is to find a device that is portable, has an ideal keyboard, syncs well on a non-custom platform, has a great screen, and has commonly replaceable/customizable parts. This is my ideal device and although it uses such a unique keyboard style, I quickly got used to it. The software is so basic but extremely logical. I'm so impressed and happy that it is in my hands.

This is the v6 and I can see the advances over the v5 (which offers different features). I'm sure this creator will keep improving aspects of this device in the future, but I have a feeling that this is peak design for me.

Beautiful design that is useful, sleek, and practical

If I could give all aspects 10 stars, I would.

This device is what I've been looking for, for years, and it wasn't readily available until Mr. Lee decided to take on a new project with some random writer (me) from halfway around the world.

After a few first email exchanges about what I was looking for, Mr. Lee came up with some designs, and I responded with further suggestions and notes. What resulted in the end is something better than I could've ever envisioned.

The device is hot-swappable (great for keyboard nerds like me), auto-save, cloud synced, standout colors, comes with a protective and privacy cover, and a leather strap for mine.

The packaging went through some beating from Italy to the USA but the device was double packed so carefully with love and care that it came out completely unharmed.

Since my receipt of the device, I've been outputting a lot more work. When I'm working, I keep it on the side but I'm always itching to type on it again.

The ease of carry, quick use, efficient startup time, makes this the perfect writing companion for me when I go out to coffee shops or just when I have a quick thought I want to jot down.

I'm in love with this device and it's helped me tremendously to get more writing out. Thanks for everything Mr. Lee!

Phenomenal device, love it!

I've been trying to figure out something like this for years. When I saw this for sale on Reddit, I grabbed one immediately. It's a gorgeous device, well-designed and very sturdy. The experience of using it is an absolute delight. From the first boot, I was greeted with a charming animation and personalized message from the seller. And seeing how this was built inspired me to keep going on my own project.

Really happy with this. Great value, great quickstart instructions, and fast shipping from Italy to where I am in the US.
