The USB Type-C Modkit from vdbx.io replaces the internal AC power supply of your Apple TV with a USB-C port and a linear voltage regulator. It includes all the tools needed to perform the modification to your 2022/"3rd Gen" Apple TV 4k including 3 guitar picks to open the case and a T6 allen key to remove and install necessary fasteners.

A 3D printed shroud centers the USB-C port in the existing connector opening and fills in what would end up being open space, making this mod look and feel professional.

Note: Apple uses T7 and T5 fasteners that will need to be removed and replaced with included T6 fasteners. We've tested T6 drivers and they seem to work with both, but it's kind of a tight fit on the T5 fasteners we tested. We've included a T6 allen-key in the kit.

FAQ

Will this work with PD cables and chargers? Yes! We made sure to include the two 5.1k ohm resistors on the CC pins of the USB-C connector

What is the output voltage? We set our linear regulator for the same 4.3v provided by the OEM PSU and it is rated for 2A which is way overkill.
