Why did I make it?

The Hantek TO11 handheld LCR meter, similar to other portable LCR meters comes with a two crocodile clip test lead set for doing measurements. This means you are forced to use a 2-wire measurement method while using the default supplied test lead. If you want increased accuracy, you will need to do a 4-wire measurement and this PCB allows you to build such a test lead set that will plug directly into the test terminals of the LCR meter.

What else do you need to build a 4-wire Kelvin test lead set?

Besides getting this custom designed PCB you will need some shielded 2 wire 28AWG cable, a pair of Kelvin 4-wire alligator clips as well as an optional 3D printed enclosure which wraps everything in a nice package. The design is open source so check out the links below for the design of the case, you can 3D print it yourself or you can order one as an option of this product. Watching the youtube video (linked below) I made will offer you all the required information for building a complete set. I will also place some links below for the cables and alligator clips:

Design features

The PCB was designed as a double sided board with surface mount square pads for soldering of the wires. The corners of the parts that slide into the blade connectors on the LCR meter have been rounded for optimal insertion action. There are two 3mm holes present on the board which allow for easy securing of the wires using a thin zip-tie. The actual PCB was manufactured with ENIG (gold plating) for improved connection, improved corrosion protection and improved mechanical wear resistance.

Finally everything was designed to be a snap fit inside the 3D printed enclosure so it shouldn't require any glue. However depending on the tolerances you get on your final 3D printed part you might need to make small adjustments and/or add glue for keeping everything together.

Compatibility

This adapter PCB has been designed to be compatible with the blade socket found on the portable Hantek LCR Meters like the TO11/TO22 models however other hand held LCR meters might use similar if not identical spacing so this board might actually work with other meters as well. Checkout the image below for size/spacing information. PCB thickness is 1.6mm.

You will get 2 x PCB adapter for Kelvin connection to LCR meter. The alligator clips and wiring are available as optional when you place the order.

Depending on the available stock you might be able to order this with the optional 3D printed case(PLA material, color may vary with available stock). This is my own design which is linked on Github. If you want you can 3D print this yourself.
