What is it?

This is a low profile addressable LED illuminated momentary push button. The button contains three bright YF923-1515 addressable RGB LEDs that can be controlled by your favorite microcontroller through the WS2811/12 protocol. The button features a normally open contact configuration along with 5v GND DIN and DOUT pig tails for powering and controlling the internal addressable LEDs. The LEDs can easily be daisy chained to control multiple illuminated buttons or other 5v addressable LEDs off of a single data pin.

Why did I make it?

There are almost no addressable LED illuminated buttons currently on the market. I was in need of a low profile illuminated button with minimal pins available to drive LED outputs so addressable LEDs seemed like the perfect solution.

What makes it special?

These black anodized aluminum push buttons feature a pleasant tactile feel with a normally open momentary contact. Three YF923-1515 addressable LEDs brightly illuminate the outer ring of the button allowing for custom color mixing and simple animation of the RGB LEDs with a single data pin. Since the LEDs are addressable there is no need for dedicated LED display driver chips or using up valuable IO on your microcontroller just daisy chain multiple illuminated buttons or other 5 volt WS2811/12 compatible LEDs together greatly simplifying wiring. The included wiring pigtail and button also feature mating connectors making the button easily detachable while maintaining a low profile helping with ease of assembly into your projects.
