Great Add-on For My KX3

I ran across this item quite by accident earlier this fall. The maker was taking a short break and I added my email address to be notified when he was back in operation. Some time later, I received the notification and - after debating whether I REALLY needed it or not - sent in my order. And I'm very glad that I did. It's a well designed, easy to build kit that went together quickly and is now installed and operational on my KX3. I'm really enjoying having one key jack set to HAND for use with my memory keyer, and the KX Buddy Key configured for my paddles. No more re-configuring back and forth. Highly recommended!

Excellent addition to the KX2 or KX3!

The slim profile jack is such a good idea! Easy assembly if you have reasonable soldering skills. This will be a permanent fixture on my rig. Great to have a place to plug in the key AND have an option for computer keying.

Note that the tip/ring connections are reversed compared to the key jack on the side of the KX, so you will need to set the menu for CW key2 to "dash" (assuming you are right handed). Not at all a big deal, since it is a set and forget option once it is done.

I could not find a short slimline pigtail (3" or 6") to plug in. There are lots of longer cords which work well. I slightly modified a right angle connector and it is perfect for me. I would include a picture, but don't see how to do it on a review.

This adapter from W6IPA is a great addition to the rig.

Great Addition to the KX3

I purchased one for my home based KX3. After putting it together and trying it, I had to have a second one for my portable KX3! It's great to have both my paddles and my straight key connected at the same time. It adds very little to the bottom of the radio.
