Snowflake

Snowflake is gorgeous. Its shape is designed carefully based on the photo of one real snowflake. Its decorative lines are silver. All its corners are rounded. The arrangement of 25 LEDs is symmetric and hexagonal.

• Easy to program: Each XIAO microcontrollers from SeeedStudio has Arduino installed. Some example sketches are available for you to download from my Github pages.

• Simple FPC connection: FPC cable makes it simple and robust to connect the micro-controller and the snowflake. No soldering is required.

• Chain-able: FPC cable also makes it easy to chain more snowflakes together.

• Work right out of the box: Snowflake is assembled and tested fully. It integrates easily with xiao-adapter. This makes it available for several XIAO-microcontrollers such as SAMD21 and ESP32C3.

The only thing you need to prepare is a USB3 type-C cable to connect the snowflake to the power.

Why did you make it? What makes it special?

This is the enhanced version of my previous snowflakes. Two things to make it better.

• Use the 4-contact FPC cable and connector instead of wires
• Adopt XIAO-Adapter from fellow maker, SnowyOwlGift

With this, if you choose to have the XIAO microcontroller soldered, this snowflake works out of the box. The FPC connection is much more robust and reliable than the thin wires.
