The Monster FDC is an open source ISA floppy disk controller card that features two FDCs. Each FDC supports up to four floppy drives. The Monster FDC and Multi-Floppy BIOS extension support the full range of IBM PC compatible floppy drives, from 5.25"/ 360 KB drives to 3.5" / 2.88 MB drives

The Monster FDC card is configured using on-board jumpers and built-in configuration utility. IRQ and DMA channel are configurable for the secondary FDC, and they are hardwired to IRQ6 and DMA2 for the primary FDC. The card also includes a serial port (UART) with configurable I/O address and IRQ.

The board has been tested in IBM XT compatible and IBM AT (286 and 386) compatible computers and expected to work in other system with an available ISA slot. With that being said, we don't have ability to test all possible ISA systems, and therefore we can't guarantee compatibility with all of them.

What is included

A high quality printed circuit board (PCB) for Monster FDC card. The PCB features hard gold card edge connector and easy to solder HASL finish. Please refer to the documentation link for the list of required parts and assembly instructions

Good deal for bare PCB

Can't wait to assemble this, and very reasonable price. I'm assembling only the 2nd floppy controller and BIOS section to add a 2nd floppy controller to a system with an existing integrated controller. I feel much better about this than trying to get something commercial off eBay because the design is totally open.
