What is it?

pCirrus Logic CS5464 based energy monitor ASIC in a breakout board format useful for building drivers in Arduino, Micropython or any other embedded platform without commiting to a full system design including energy sampling circuitry.

This board is a continuation in my series of energy monitor ASIC exploration boards including the ATM90E26, ATM90E36, CS5490 and ADE7763.

Why did you make it?

I really wanted to make this board after performing a teardown on the Neur.io Energy monitor used in Tesla Powerwalls which includes this energy monitor.

The initial revision of this board was built as an SMD soldering demo for the Nairobi Open Source Hardware Meetup. Since then I have successfully assembled and tested this design and verified functionality with an Arduino driver.

What makes it special?

This board is the only minimalist dev board for the CS5464 ASIC. Initial boards will be hand assembled, future runs will be done by PCBWay in China. All proceeds will go towards supporting the Nairobi Open Source Hardware Meetup.
