Read More…This board is an easy way to get your PIC projects started. It includes everything you need to start using a PIC at the core of your project.
It includes a PIC16F887-I/P, 20mhz crystal oscillator, ICSP header, 40pin dip socket, a 2.1mm barrel jack, 2 programmable buttons, and power input/output headers.
It also has bypass capacitors on the power input, regulator, and output to help prevent interference.
I have designed some sample code projects which can provide a template for your projects.
Basic Version: PAXStarter PIC16F887 Base Project
Interrupt Driven Version: PAXStarter PIC16F887 Interrupt Driven Base Project
Both of these projects use and activate the on board buttons using the internal weak pull up resistors, and they activate LEDs in different ways on PORTD to give you some output examples. They also contain all the configs necessary to run the PIC16F887. The projects were built in MPLAB X, but you can extract the code to use elsewhere.
These projects also contain extensive notes explaining the why behind each step.
If you have questions or need support, just let me know!
If you apply power through the barrel jack, the Power Input header will give you barrel jack power to provide extra voltage throughout your circuit.
It's best not to apply power through the ICSP header. It is connected so that the voltage levels can be detected by the ICD.
If there is anything else you would like to see, please let me know. I will do what I can to help.
Currently I am shipping via USPS. If you need other options let me know.
