What is it?

This is a mounting adapter that will let you put a larger laser module in your desktop USB laser laser engraver.

With this adapter you can install a laser with industry-standard 16mm/32mm hole spacing in to any laser engraver that uses CD/DVD/BD steppers and has a "four peg"-style mount on the X-carriage. Please see the attached photos to see if your engraver is compatible.

It mounts using the same screws as the original laser.

This was designed for a "NEJE"-branded model, but the same design is sold under many other name such as HICTOP, Meterk, Colemak, and many others.

When you team this mount up with a GRBL-compatible upgrade (more details can be found here), you can experiment with different laser sizes and frequencies that you did not have access to before.

Precautions and Disclaimer

Lasers are dangerous, and upgrading your laser is done at your own risk. Using lasers of any kind will bring considerable risks, and you must take all appropriate safety precautions.

Please take care when upgrading and using your laser engraver. If you upgrade your laser, you MUST also upgrade your eye protection. Do NOT assume the laser safety glasses that were included with your 100mW laser will be effective with a 3000mW laser, even if they are of the same wavelength.

Remember that laser wavelengths which are not visible to the human eye can still cause serious eye damage. Even when wearing laser safety glasses, you are encouraged to never look directly at the laser beam.
