How do I install the modules?

If you have Saturn 2, please follow this guide. If you have Elegoo Saturn 1 or Elegoo Saturn S, see the guide below.

The installation is pretty simple and can be completed in less than 10 minutes. You will only need the Allen keys that came with your printers. First, remove the resin vat and build plate. Also, unplug your printer from the power adapter.

Then, unscrew the side cover (unplug your flash drive first):

Peel the cover from the base plate - it is secured by tape. You should see a ribbon cable from the LCD. Disconnect it by turning the black key up (there is a notch for your fingernail in the middle) and then sliding it out.

Now unscrew the screws on the base plate of the printer.

Prepare a box (e.g., Elegoo resin box) on top of which you can lay the top of the printer. Then lift the base plate. And lay it down. Be careful - there are still wires for the stepper motor and the end-stop switch connected!

Disconnect the old fans from the motherboard:

Unscrew the original fans:

Take your Silencer modules and connect them to the replacement fans.

Screw the new fans in and connect them to the motherboard. Be aware of the polarity (the connector has an alignment pin):

Mount the silent fans and use the attached cable tie to tidy up the cables. Now put the base plate back and tighten the screws. Connect the LCD ribbon cable back into the connector and turn the black key on the connector down to secure it. Install the side cover.

You are now ready to plug your Saturn and listen - there's much less noise! Enjoy.

What is in the package?

The package contains:

2 pieces of the Silencer board (one for each fan)
2 pieces SilentiumPC Zephyr 50 fans (if you choose the full kit version)

Compatibility

This module was tested with the pre-order unit of Elegoo Saturn and SilentiumPC Zephyr 50 fans. Similarly, it was tested with the pre-order unit of Elegoo Saturn 2.

However, it is compatible with any 12V fan featuring a PC connector (most fans on the market).

Works with the Saturn 8K

Took a chance that this would work on the Saturn 8K and can confirm it works perfectly. The Saturn 8K has a splitter cable instead of two separate fan connectors so just plug these into the splitter, I have paired this with some Noiseblocker XS-1 fans since that was all I could find and now the loudest part of the printer is the motor as the arm goes up and down which is still whisper quiet.

A great solution for printers with noisy fans

I previously got a silencer kit for my Saturn and it worked great. After switching to an Anycubic Photon Mono X (6K) I struggled to find solutions for dealing with 24V fans, so I decided to give these another shot and they work just as well! (You just need 2 sets because there are 4 fans, and you need to source some 80x80x25 fans instead- I went with the 80mm slim fans by AABCOOLING).

Jan provides great products, ships them out in a timely fashion, documents exactly how to use them (for their intended purposes of course), and always responds to your messages in a helpful manner. I couldn't recommend buying from him more!

Finally I can print at night on my Saturn S

Bought the full kit, came well packaged in a small parcel. Install instructions were simple to follow. The Saturn S doesn't have two fan connectors and instead comes with a fan splitter so just plug the silencers into those. I also used one of the other reviews' suggestions and removed the metal finger/wire guard to fit the noise dampeners. Ended up with one fan being a little loose in the bracket but it didn't rattle or make any additional noise.

Speaking of which, the noise reduction is fantastic. The Elegoo Saturn S fans could be heard more than 7 meters away while you have to get closer to 2 meters to hear even a peep from these!

Excellent noise reduction for my Saturn S

I highly recommend the kit for noise reduction on the Saturn or Saturn S model printers. fan noise dropped from 45dB to 35dB (measured at unit) and my printer now blends in with the ambient noise of my home office (it blends in with my tower PC and laptop noise.)

Installation was simple (watch for tight ribbon cables when opening your printer!), taking 5-10 minutes max.
Check the airflow direction of the fans (my original fans were blowing outwards). On the Zephyr fans I had delivered, that meant that the 'S' logo was visible from the inside of the case when they were mounted.
I found that the original Saturn fan screws will accommodate the new fan and the supplied rubber spacers, but the original fan guards were too much; I opted for the rubber spacers instead of the guards, but nothing should be floating about in the case anyway...

The only issue I encountered (and this does not reflect on the product or seller) were delays with delivery caused by Brexit, Easter and other world events. Shipping to the UK when ordered in March '22 took just shy of a month, so do be patient. Response from the seller on this point was very quick too.

Does what advertised!

Works wonders, the printer is now almost half as loud! The fan operation is now super silent and installation instructions were super clear. Awesome product :)

AWESOME KIT!

Quiets the Saturn down to near silence. Easy to install too. A must have if you own a Elgoo Saturn. I was concerned about shipping but the kit came in a very reasonable amount of time.

Good quality product, fast shipping

Finding the product via Google Search was more of a hit and miss, but the presentation and documentation is pretty good and convincing.
The shipment of the product was very fast and the product itself is of great qulity. The result is very good too. Maybe not as silent as expected, but definitely much quieter as with the original fans. Perhaps 60mm fans with printed 50mm to 60mm fan shroud would be even better, there is enough place in the printer housing.
I can definitely recommend this product and will do so.

Couldn't ask for better

Excellent kit, the voltage-dropdown converters are well designed and put out a consistent 12.3v even under heavier-than-designed load. They were packed excellently and shipped quickly.

Perfect addition to your Saturn

The Elegoo Saturn is already a great machine but this little add on make it even better. Gained a decrease of -6.9db on my testing which is already quite noticeable!
