What is it?

A kit for building a shield board for using together with the HobbyTronics USB Host Mini V2 board, creating a converter for synths and controllers with class-compliant USB MIDI, outputting 5-pin DIN MIDI. Power is supplied using a Mini USB port.

Why did you make it?

I wanted a small, cheap and simple USB MIDI host converter. The HobbyTronics board is almost a complete solution, but it needs power, resistors and a 5-pin DIN jack. This shield provides that in a nice way, keeping it dongle sized.
