This solderable breadboard has a similar layout to the popular 170 tie point mini breadboards with a couple of improvements. Two power rails (5V and GND) run down the center of the board under the DIP channel. Most ICs or microcontrollers come in even numbered pin packages like 8 pin, 14 pin, 16 pin, and 18 pin. The regular 170 tie point mini breadboards have 17 columns. I can't tell you how many times I've been breadboarding something, and was one column short! The elite solderable breadboard is equipped with an 18th column for a little more prototyping real estate. This would allow you to fit a 28 pin IC like the ATMega238p and an 8 pin IC like the 555 timer on one breadboard! Each column is broken out to the edge of the board which allows this board to interface with other boards (see other products).
