What is this?

I myself am a fan of blackberry and like those tiny but fuctional things. So I built this tiny USB keyboard with the original bb9900 keyboard. This unique keyboard with trackpad is powered by the Raspberry Pi RP2040 MCU and operates under QMK Firmware, seamlessly transforming into a USB HID Keyboard and Mouse combo.

As this keyboard boasts a limited number of keys, we understand that personal preferences for keycodes and layout may vary. Thanks to the flexibility of QMK firmware, you can effortlessly customize and define your keycodes and layout using the VIA on web.

Tutorial about how to customize your own keymapping

This keyboard can work as a keyboard and mouse combo when connected to a computer (Windows/Linux/MacOS), a phone (android/iphone) or even a SBC (Raspberry Pi, etc).

Works flawlessly

Reviewing with it. The keyboard is enough to make quick things, and is very light. I plan to customize it in the near future.
Also I had a few issues with my local mailing agency. but the way the keyboard was sent actually helped me.

Next time I might order printed PCBs myself tho.

very cool device and unusual experience of use

It will be very helpful to manage multiple computers, instead of constantly connecting and disconnecting the keyboard and mouse separately, you can simply use this device.

Great little keyboard!

A USB BB keyboard that is programmable. The little mouse works quite well, also! The pre-configured settings are quite good and Zitao is extremely helpful on the Discord.

Awesome, Amazing, and Spectacular

I guess I have a thing for tiny keyboards, and now I can keep this classic on me and actually use it on various projects. Legitimately very handy to have a wired keyboard/trackpad this size. The only thing I thought when I got it and tried to use it was "what bout my ctrl, alt, and tab keys?" Then I checked the documentation link and found you can fully customize the thing via the github page. Amazing!

Perfect and as described!

Shipped it to Canada and was realistic about the timelines as it was ordered before the winter holidays. Everything was well packaged and within expected timelines, about 3 weeks. I got both the BB9900 and the BBQ20 and they came with additional 3D printed covers that is easy to switch out. The 3D printed covers are of pretty good quality as well. Both worked right out of the box without any need to tinker - just needed to supply my own cables. Worked on my Raspberry Pi 5 as well as my windows laptop and android smartphone. Documentation was great as I wanted to see what the different layers were.

Just as cool and useful as I'd hoped

This small keyboard device is so cool. It removes the need for the pen and keyboard on my Microsoft Surface, and it makes texting much better on the phone. It's universal - I can use it on any of my devices with a USB port. It is immediately recognized as a keyboard and mouse on my Surface and my Samsung phone. The build quality is excellent and the ergonomics are great, especially with the addition of the two mouse buttons on the front of the device. The documentation that the vendor provides (online) is great in explaining how to use the device, and it is even shows how to reconfigure the device.

My only complaint in the ordering process was the shipping time... Not the seller's fault, and the seller was very quick and kind in communication. It took 30 days to ship via DHL to the SF bay area. Twenty six of those days were just for the package to get out of Europe. Once it hit the states, USPS got it sent relatively quickly. The worst part was the sparsity of updates from DHL. Long spans between actions, and not much detail. I was excited to tinker with this thing so the wait was torturous.

Despite the painful first shipment process, I do expect to make at least one more purchase of these keyboards, or perhaps the Bluetooth version when released (although I prefer not having to deal with a battery in this device, which a BT format would require). The seller is top notch and the product is too much fun to only keep to myself. I plan to give these as gifts once I gauge the general interest of my techie friends...

keyboard that works awesome!

The BB9900 keyboard is very nice and I like it very much!
I was using a Solder Party keyboard, but I wanted the Q20 version as well because the support for remapping keys online via VIA is very useful.

beautiful useful wonderful

I bought both the BB9900 ＆ BBQ20 USB keyboard from ZitaoTech. And I have tried both keyboards for 1 week now I am satiefield with both keyboards.

Compared with BBQ20 keyboard, the BB9900 keyboard has external backlighting on the trackpad to show if the capslock is activated, which I think is really useful. Also I am really happy to see that the trackpad can be used as mouse and also scrool wheel when capslock is activated. Theoretically, this compact BB keyboard can perform the tasks of a mouse and a large keyboard combined, yet it's even smaller than a standard mouse I typically use. I have tried the keyboard on my Raspberry pi 4B and it works also great. I think I can build a tiny cyberdeck with it.

The design of the BB9900 keyboard is really classic, I felt drawun to it just looking at the elegant curve of the keyboard. Hoping to see the bluetooth version coming out.
