For ATX-Pi
I was looking for a way to host a Raspberry Pi in a 1U rackmount case. The ATX Pi was clearly the best design I found for adapting to an ATX PSU. Other designs didn't have an ATX connector, or ran the Pi off the standby line or we're still in early Kickstarter stages or other limitations.
The kit arrived quickly. Ian promptly answered all my "silly software engineer" questions and offered help all through the process. His build instructions were excellent and easy to follow. Each component was clearly labeled and each build step had an accompanying photo. He even flashed the Arduino AVR component for me.
Despite my ineptitude with a soldering iron, the ATX Pi was a straight-forward build and left me with a major sense of accomplishment such that I can proudly say that it both worked perfectly and I didn't burn the house down while building it.
I'd happily suggest working with other designs from Ian as he produces them.
