To sum it all up one could say I'm interested in anything technical and left over from a bygone era when virtually everyone associated the word electronics to something other than what is bought from Wal-Mart in a box or hanging on a shelf in a blister pack.

A painless way to de-pin a JST-XH connector

For JST TERMINAL PIN EXTRACTORS (2.50mm, 3.96mm Pitch)

I have been searching for a way to de-pin JST-XH connectors for some time. I have tried a 3D printed design I found on Printables and an Amazon bundle of various connector pinning tools. But neither of these options worked, so before I found this I was using a jeweler's screwdriver to manually remove each pin (painful). I saw this tool and though skeptical, after watching the video I decided to give it a try. I am very happy that I did, because it works perfectly. I would give this 6 stars if I could.

I have fumbled with these connectors for years. I wish I had come across these earlier. Great service, I received the item in less than a week from the time I ordered them.

Clever solution for JST pin removal.

For JST TERMINAL PIN EXTRACTORS (2.50mm, 3.96mm Pitch)

Works as described, making JST pin removal easy, better than alternatives. Only downside is that 3D printed material used to make tool is brittle and will break fairly easy.

Product does not work great

For JST TERMINAL PIN EXTRACTORS (2.50mm, 3.96mm Pitch)

I just tested this product, The tool is printed on a 3D printer and the overall quality of the print is only average. The smaller one seemed to work okay but was not near as easy as the video made it look. The Larger one work to a much lesser degree. It did not seem to be able top press in the retaining tab very well on the on the connector. over all well the concept seems sound the quality of the tool is preventing it to work as well as hoped.

Thank you for your honest review.
I think I need to add operating procedures in the text.
I found that after inserting the connector applying slight tugging to the wires while applying slight squeeze/release pressures to the connector will reliably release the Terminal Pins.
I have succeeded on every connector I have around here. However, I have discovered that many "knock-off" JST connectors have different "Crimp Profiles" on the Latch part of the Terminal Pin that does not match the flat design specification on the JST Datasheet.
If you could mail me the connector your having difficulty with I would gladly use it to make modifications to the design and return it and the new extractor at no charge.
By the way, the 3D printed parts are structurally sound and high enough resolution to do the job.
