For TMC2209 TinyG upgrade for LitePlacer & OpenPNP.

Amazing improvement to the motor control of the LitePlacer. I don't even hear the stepper motors anymore. Gone is the ringing and buzzing when the machine is idle. I also bought this to help with the migration to using OpenPnP, since it has jumpers to swap the inputs of the Z limit switches. Assembly was very easy and the instructions are very good. Be sure to buy the PCB with the SMD components already soldered, very much worth the small extra cost.

Great Product worked exactly like I'd expected

For Resistance Decade Substitution Box Kit

It took me a couple of selectors to figure out the 'easiest' method for me to solder on the resistors.
It works great, I think I need to find new connection wires to reduce the impedance they add, as mine is at 1.6ohms zeroed out.
I like that instead of a bunch of knobs to read and add up, its a quick read for exactly what I've set the resistance to.
Everything I'm looking at doing needs mega Ohms or greater, so I don't see an immediate issue/need to resolve it.
There was no project box available when I purchased mine, so I designed one that can be 3d printed for those with that capability. You can find that over at thingiverse as thing:5260681.

Great addon for a low price... just minor issues

For TMC2209 TinyG upgrade for LitePlacer & OpenPNP.

Hi,
I bought this upgrade to make my Liteplacer more silent and less hot.
WORKS!
The full set has been shipped fast to Germany.
The Wiki page helps to build it.
Good: The SMD Parts has already be soldered, so get not just the PCB, but with all parts.
Worth every cent, do not buy PCB only.

The only minor downsize: The add on board does not align to the original mount holes,
so mechanical some work (3D printing, or hot glue) is required.
But: The electrical connection are well done.

Thanks for the kind words & glad you like it.

Regarding the mounting Holes: When designing initially for my own setup, I had envisioned using zip ties to supplement the Header mounts. In the end, I felt that additional mounting support beyond the headers was not required (for me). However, for the next rev of the PCB I will look into this further to see if it can be enhanced.

For Extender/Riser boards for 5345A & similar testgear

The boards were of very good quality and exactly as described. They worked well for troubleshooting my HP3586A.
I would guess there are many more HP instruments with which they could be used. I thoroughly recommend this product.

For 10MHz OCXO Frequency Standard Module or Kit

The Tindie OCXO module/kit is a great little 10 MHz frequency standard. I bought the fully assembled, tested, and
calibrated version. Through email Tindie helped me figure out what additional connector cables I needed to connect
to the additional four outputs. My order was shipped promptly and I received it fairly quickly considering it was an
international shipment.

Upon receiving my order I hooked it up as per the instructions. I checked all the outputs using an oscilloscope and
frequency counter and found all working as expected. I also found that one really has to pay attention to having the
50 ohm termination on the receiving end of the cables. Without the proper termination the waveforms will not look
good at all. I found that I needed to use a 10x, 5pF probe with my Tek 465 scope to see a good waveform at the end
of a 1 meter length of RG-58 having a 50 ohm termination. I also found out that the sweep on my Tek 465 definately
needs calibration!

My plan is to mount the OCXO in a small enclosure with its own power supply. I want to include several decade
dividers to provide several fixed frequency outputs. I also want to have a switch selectable output for the lower frequencies. I may also add a variable width pulse output for the lower frequencies as well.

It is really nice to be able to finally find a good affordable frequency standard. Now I may be able to calibrate some
of my test equipment so function generators, oscilloscopes, and frequency counters may actually agree with each
other.

Goes to six nines in a few minutes

For 10MHz OCXO Frequency Standard Module or Kit

Board arrived safely at USA address, in a padded bag, a week after the order.
This is a completely assembled unit with no calibration (option A2).
After a few minutes the output measured 1.000000 MHz and the board draws about 220 mA.
Everything is exactly as advertised and this is now by far the most accurate clock in the lab, to be used to calibrate or characterize other instruments.

Worked as described

For 10MHz OCXO Frequency Standard Module or Kit

Bought 2 boards populated with everything except the OCXO. I fitted my Bliley OCXOs and the PCBs work well. Shipping was fast, and the packaging was good. Overall very happy with my oscillators. The adjustment is very sensitive, perhaps consider a larger number of turns trimmer pot for more precise adjustment.

EDIT: Thanks, I didn't even look, just assumed I had Rev C. You are correct of course, these resistors on Rev D allow me to solve the problem completely. As you correctly point out, most references will want around 2.5V, so I will probably change my pot to a 10K or 20K pot instead of the 50K pot. This also increases the number of turns per Hertz. Please note: I am being really, really picky here, mine is tuned to within 10 millihertz straight out of the packet.

Glad they are working out for you & thanks for the feedback. We will give your suggestion some consideration, for the next revision of the PCB.

Some thoughts:
- I believe you have the latest Rev_D of the PCB
- In this rev, you can get more sensitivity by replacing R1&R3 with higher value resistors. Ideally, they should have the same value, but that will depend a lot on whether the Vfc for your OCXO is close-ish to 2.5V (or nearer one of the extremes) They are in series with the POT and by increasing their values you can effectively increase the adjustment resolution, by reducing/narrowing the adjustment range. I will also email you the latest schematic directly. (let me know via PM if you need more info on this)
- FYI: In my experience with these OCXOs, including the Bliley, the adjustment sensitivity is sufficent to 'tune' within the operation range of this class of OCXO.

UPDATE: I just checked and it looks like there are pots with more turns & the same footprint available. I will order some in to evaluate with a view to offering them and an upgrade option. So not need to wait for a new PCB revision :)
Existing users, can simply desolder & replace the existing one, if required.

Great little module, perfect for prototyping

For SendIR, advanced Infrared emitter module (IR)

While you could definitely embed this in your end-project; I plan on using it for speeding up prototyping and to sort of remove a some human error. It is well built and documented. Looking forward to ReceiveIR.
Shipping to USA was fast.

FYI: "ReceiveIR" is already available....but called "DetectIR" and can be configured with many IR receiver options.
(Unfortunately, it is currently only listed on our own website. When I get some spare time I will also list on Tindie along with our wider range of IR modules)

There ia also another "RecieveIR" module available, called A.IR Shield Rx. This is a dedicated shield for AnalysIR and plugs directly into platforms such as UNO or breadboards. However it can also be used for other purposes and features both a standard IR receiver & IR Learner in one very compact module. Allows signal recording & Carrier frequency measurement. Again only available via our website.

I reallly must get more of these IR modules listed on Tindie.....

Works well, but mounting holes too near components

For 10MHz OCXO Frequency Standard Module or Kit

I purchased the 4 hour calibrated fully built system. Electronically, it worked perfectly. However the mounting holes on the revision of the board I bought (Rev C?) are too close to components - in one case the machine bolt head inserted into the hole touched a capacitor and in another case, I couldn't get a bolt head with washer inserted in the hole because the trimming pot blocked it.

I communicated this to the supplier and the engineer who responded said this should be easy to fix in the next board revision. The response was timely, professional and the engineer obviously knew what he was talking about. [NB: I rated the product as good, but the rating of the other characteristics is not correct, since on my browser clicking on any star of the 5 generated an "Amazing" 5 star rating. For the record, I would rate shipping as good, documentation as average and communication as good. I tried to leave them unrated, but the evaluation process required that I rate everything.]

Thanks for the feedback - much appreciated and as you mentioned we will feed that back into the next rev of the board.

Some additional comments:
- Mounts: are fine in the current Rev with the correct size screw head, but we will create more space near the mounts in the next Rev. Of course with Plastic/nylon mounts even larger heads could be used. Snap through plastic mounts are also fine.
- Documentation: After follow-up, it seems the information/documentation you needed was already provided on the Main Tindie page for this product. However, in future we will also include the links to the OCXO datasheets in the information pack we email after shipping the product. (The Info pack we issue includes 6 documents - Schematic(s), BoM, Component Placement & Layout, OCXO footprint & dimensions and now a copy of the Links to available datasheets of the OCXOs we provide)

OCXO works great

For 10MHz OCXO Frequency Standard Module or Kit

I picked up two of these. One I left as is. The other I have converted to an 80 MHz clock by adding a couple of clock multiplier ICs to the back of the unit. The extra pads on the back are great for this purpose. I will be rebuilding this unit as a 50 MHz clock by taking advantage of the harmonics on the square wave output and applying a bandpass filter at the fifth harmonic.

I checked the 10 MHz output of two units against each other using an oscilloscope. They seem to be within about 1/5 Hz of each other, so I'm quite pleased with the calibration. Frequency stability seems excellent. I had the opportunity to use one of these units outdoors on a cool day, and although it took a little longer to warm up, once the oven came up to temperature the frequency was bang on.

good kit

For 10MHz OCXO Frequency Standard Module or Kit

This is an excellent and inexpensive way to provide yourself with a solid 10Mhz frequency standard. I got the board populated with all the parts less the OCXO which I got from Ebay. I bought the ISOTEMP OCXO 131-100 with a date code of 2004 . Aside from the fact that the Ebay seller mislabled the pinouts on the ocxo, It worked right off the bat once I checked the spec sheet.
Clever product, well made and it did the job for me.
