Awesome device for a niche market
For 3270 USB Interface IBM
The 3270 USB Interface for IBM may have limited appeal as it targets those attempting to use IBM 3270 CUT-style terminals without a 3174 establishment controller. It does "exactly what it says on the tin." Once I had assembled the hardware connections and installed the OEC software, I had my IBM 3483 InfoWindow terminals talking to various mainframe instances. Getting started requires some technical knowledge, but that shouldn't be a problem for the target audience.
Shipping was quick, with tracking information provided the moment it shipped. It arrived in perfect shape in a very well-packaged parcel. Included with the device was a hard copy of the "Getting Started" instructions.
Communication from the seller/maker of this device has been stellar from initial confirmation of the order through subsequent follow-ups. I was pleasantly shocked to find a handwritten note from the seller with my package. He is passionate about this project and dedicated to top-notch customer service.
I recommend picking up one of these if you have an IBM 3270 CUT style sitting around gathering dust.
Thank you, Approachware, from a satisfied customer.
