Big gaps in Firmware, not usable

For BA001: Wifi Dual Dimmer (mini)

Although the product itself looks OK, the firmware is NOT! This product is only interesting if there would be a good working Tasmota firmware available. For the single dimmer it is! and that one works fine in Domoticz...So please guys, do something about it so I can promote your product on Facebook!

Product functions as advertised.

For IA002:Isolated I/O Module for Raspberry Pi

Product: Raspberry Pi Isolated IO, 24V

Pros: All four inputs and outputs worked right out of the box
provided documents makes mapping to the IO easy
works with Rpi.GPIO
24V power is very useful for cleaning the wiring
Fuse helps save precious electronics

Cons: Would have really liked the option to include standoffs in the order (as an add-on)
Wish the IO was sourcing rather than sinking
Shipping....

Notes: Shipping from India takes a very long time (like 30 days). In my case, it took almost 2 months before the correct product was at my address, and whats worse is I more-less spent an extra $10 to get it because when I received the incorrect item I had to pay to send it to the proper location (the other side of the USA). The person that received my item was not so nice and never mailed me mine so I was stuck waiting for another shipment from India to USA. All in all, I would say if you are looking to find a 24V IO HAT go to adafruit and get the automation HAT from pimoroni, it's a MUCH shorter wait time, you won't have to deal with costly shipping errors, and it does most of the same functions with a couple small trades.
In summary, I don't think I'll be getting any more items from armtronix when it comes to professional projects, it's not worth it, time is money and the time wrapped up in shipping nearly cost me the project.

Project (for those interested): This item required added circuitry due to it being NPN rather than PNP but I did successfully use it to allow communication between a raspberry pi and a Universal Robot. The pi handles a stepper motor which runs a linear rail with inputs from the robot telling the pi where to send the stepper. The pi is also running a computer vision system and telling the robot where a part lies for proper orientation of the gripper before pickup. Programming could use a little extra effort but all in all the system works.

Tasmota flash with a .bin file

For BA004: Wifi Single Dimmer (triac based)

I have the single triac dimmer, rev 0.3
I really would like a tutorial (not only uncompleated text) on how to flash to arendst\ Tasmota firmware.
If you could provide a picture of how to connect it, and how to flash (esp8266 + ATMEGA328) with the use of a .bin file and ESPEasy, that would be greate.
The 'How to customise firmware' have no drawings, and figure 6: Other Header doesn't provide info wether it's turned clockwise or ccw compared to the picture in Figure 2.

Promising but still needs major improvements !

For BA004: Wifi Single Dimmer (triac based)

That product is definitively very interesting but unhappy it's not yet in an usable state !
Firmware is very incomplete:
-> control of GPIO through web interface is very chaotic
-> no auto-discovery for MQTT
-> not even able to handle basic authentification in MQTT
-> not easy to reprogram due to presence of a micro-controler aside ESP (so both needs to be flashed for firmware modifications !)
-> web interface has no protection at all
Hardware by itself is ok unless case looks very home made and finish itself is very basic !

Package has been shipped without my name and surname on package neither on commercial invoice, was a big adventure to succeed to get package from post office when package has no name on it :(

Please guys, make a little effort and at least supply a decent firmware for MQTT and web security !

For BA004: Wifi Single Dimmer (triac based)

1. Be aware that you need to be patient when configuring WiFi at the device.
Activating changes including the reboot of the device may take up to several minutes, so wait some 5 minutes or more before attempting to reach the device at the ip- address you just configured.
2. If you want to reconfigure WiFi/Network you must ensure the device doesn't receive the SSID of the previous setup, the device will ONLY boot into AP-mode when it doesn't receive the previously configured SSID.
So you may have to switch off your router or, as I did, shield the device from RF by wrapping it into alu-foil, and then access it as AP by holding the phone very close to it (it will work through the foil-shield because of the very short distance).
3. Addition of a (pico-) fuse on the PCB at the input side will improve safety.

I already received the product, I am very happy with the purchase. I'm going to need another 5 more units.
But first I need to know which pins control the relays.
I dedicate myself to installing climates and I intend to control them by cell phone application.

Dimmer doesn't work well with LED dimmable bulbs

For BA001: Wifi Dual Dimmer (mini)

I love the form factor and size, but with two units and several different brands of led bulbs, all of them flickered. Am in the states and run off 120v - which according to the specs *shouldn't* be an issue (and probably isn't the issue), but all the instructions reference 230v, so I can't be certain.

Brands of LED bulbs I tried:
Cree, GE and Phillips (not their smart bulbs). Of all the dimmable LED bulbs, I've had the best results with the Phillips, but they all buzzed and flickered and turned off completely under level 20. Maybe v2 will fix the problem?

Thanks for the review .We have tried it with a triac dimmable driver and have got good results . In india it is 230V AC @ 50Hz .

Turned a circulation fan into a smart fan

For BA004: Wifi Single Dimmer (triac based)

I got one of the wifi dimmer boards for my circulation fan and it works nicely, now I wonder if I can use one for controlling my heated blanket to give me a better level of control. Another idea that I've got is to rewire my fan heater to allow the dimmer to control the heating part to allow more flexibility with the produced heat but without slowing the fan down.
Had to write my software for it to meet my needs but other than that, the hardware is what I needed as it's something I'd not be able to build myself.
